Are you on Team Dollar Bill or Team Dollar Coin?

The U.S. General Accountability Office released a study Wednesday that found replacing the dollar bill with a dollar coin could saving the federal government $4.4 billion over 30 years.

    The dollar bill and the penny should be put to rest. Bring back the dollar coin and forget the bill. But on the dollar coin forget using political correct stuff. Just use a plain American symbol like the Buffalo or the Statue of Liberty. Forget using persons, bring back American spirit. The Walking Liberty coins of the 40s and on the current silver one ounce from the mint are absolutely beautiful. .

    One more item. It would be cool to bring back silver certificates that would be redeemable in silver. Sure the price would vary, but it would be backed by something in a vault. The Treasury would issue them, not the Federal Reserve Bank, and fractional reserve banking would not be allowed. Not sure of all the details and implications, just a random thought about bringing something back from the past.
